SMAD-GFP報告基因是自主研發的用于檢測SMAD2/ SMAD3/ SMAD4轉錄活性水平為目的的報告基因。SMAD(drosophila mothers against decapentaplegic )蛋白家族在將TGF-β信號從細胞表面受體傳導至細胞核的過程中起到關鍵性作用，且不同的Smad介導不同的TGF-β家族成員的信號轉導。TGF-β信號通路涉及細胞的增殖和分化，在腫瘤發生與進展、細胞外基質形成和**調節等過程中發揮重要作用。
SMAD-GFP報告基因主要用于檢測細胞中TGFβ信號通路、**研究、基因過表達和RNAi的表型分析等。SMAD GFP Reporter Plasmid SMAD-GFP報告基因質粒
pGMSMAD-GFP是改造后的哺乳動物真核表達載體，在其多克隆位點插入了多個SMAD結合位點，可以高效地檢測SMAD的激活水平。由于載體采用了GFP作為報告基因，更便于后續的檢測。同時，對載體中預測出的其它轉錄因子以外的結合位點進行了適當的突變，增加了質粒的轉錄因子結合特異性。另外，由于質粒體積減小，使得SMAD-GFP報告基因更易于轉染。
